Two Magpies?

A few people have asked where I got the name for the blog. It comes from a little rhyme I learned in England. Also, whenever you see a Magpie, and you see them a lot, its good luck to say 'Good Morning Mister Magpie' and tip your hat (imaginary or real). Something Mark and I never failed to do, because we can always use a little extra luck.

I originally came up with the name Two Magpies for an events company that I was working on in London. The company would focus mainly on weddings and I just thought the Two for Joy line was a lovely way to tie in the love of marriage with the name. Alas, the company wasn't meant to because I got a job offer at an advertising agency that I couldn't pass up.

The rhyme is:

One for sorrow,

Two for joy,

Three for a girl,

Four for a boy,

Five for silver,

Six for gold,

Seven for a secret,

Never to be told
